World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.
For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the equipment to which it is used (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.
A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that can double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded various ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.
In the endgame you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced again, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
Each Glyph has a certain range of values that can enhance a stat by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the various Glyphs and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may be able to place them near their critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the power of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level requires a different number of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is upgraded.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrade the equipment they have, the base item is replaced by an item that is new. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set of bonuses. This can be a disadvantage, as it can cause the item to become more expensive if you do not need it.
The upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This is a good idea but it shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to personalize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants a buff if the player is repeatedly in or leaves the water. The item can be upgraded several times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be extremely useful in PvP battles, since an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.
Requirements
The upgrader for items lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, weapons, and trinkets) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an item, it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item returning to its initial state and the player having to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with the lowest cost for each upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements than standard gear. For instance they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different upgrade ingredients.
